The Best Travel Way

The Best Travel Way

I like to travel, and my favorite way to travel is self-driving tour. My ideal is to drive an ORV (off-road vehicle) to go on a journey with my wife across the country when I retire.

Self-driving tour has a lot of advantages. At first, it’s very convenient. You may go to your fond anywhere; you may start, stop anytime without any constraint; and you may have plenty of time to taste local delicious food. The second, it is cheaper than other travel ways, such as by a plane, which is expensive. You first have to take a taxi to downtown after you deplane, then you check in a hotel which you don’t understand at all (The hotel is likely to give the taxi driver some benefit), and you will have to rent a car or ride a bus with a tourist group in order to get to the tourist spot by the next day.

Above all, these are no small cost. On the contrary, self-driving tour can help you save some money, and you may optionally choose a cheap and good service hotel. Moreover, self-driving tour will give you a kind of relaxed, cheerful, excited and even crazy feeling while you are driving and listening to the loud music.

However, self-driving trip also has a few disadvantages. For example, it is difficult to move your car when you are in traffic jams, especially when you meet an accident on the totally-enclosed motorway. I once met circumstance one time and stayed in my car all night. Can you imagine that I was alone in a cold and dark night and it was snowing so heavily outside the car?

You should

My friend from China is coming to visit Calgary in a week. If he arrives here, I really have a lot of words to talk with him. At first, I will tell him that no matter weather forecast is, he should bring an umbrella  everyday and had better wear a caftan in case of a cold, because the weather change fast here. It will maybe shower anytime and anywhere, and temperature also changes a lot between day and night.

The second, I will tell him that he had better carry a camera when he will be outdoor everyday, because the scenery is very beautiful and attractive here. He can take a plenty of pictures of all kinds of plants never seen in China, such as lots of flowering trees which aroma is very tempting; he also can take a great deal of pictures of wild animals anywhere, such as squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese and kinds of birds.

In addition, I have also sincere advice to tell him. He must take the ticket everyday if he takes a subway, or else he will suffer severe punishment if police find him without a ticket. I heard that subway police fined near $150 who didn’t accept any explains.

Crime and Safety

Crime and Safety

I have stayed in Calgary for one and half months. I feel Calgary’s people are very easy and comfortable. All people live in so natural environment, for there is clear air and all kinds of plants, lots of flowering trees, and the aroma is very tempting. You can see wild animals anywhere in the city, such as squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese and kinds of birds. They all freely live, nobody wants to disturb them.
I suppose the city is safer than my hometown, nevertheless I only occasionally can hear few of criminal things like that someone’s wallet is stolen in my hometown. I never hear any news about crime probably because I rarely read newspaper and watch TV in Calgary. But my consciousness tells me the city’s crime rate is lower, because what I see every day is that everyone is busy with their own thing; I never see somebody fighting, even rarely hear somebody shouting by day only if at night; when police meet you, they always smile to you rather than check your passport like other countries. However, I am confused why alarms always sound everyday. I wonder what’s happening.

Nobody wants to be the victim of a crime. However, how can we protect ourselves? In my own opinion, first, we should learn some self-protection general knowledge; second, we had better be far away from busy places for the busier, the more danger.

My Favorite

My Favorite

If you ask me, “What is your favorite?” I may answer you without hesitation, “My favorite is that I drive ORV to travel with my family together.” Perhaps you feel my answer is too simple or a little inveracious, however, this is the most sincere and unadorned word which I really comprehend in my more than forty experiences.
Do you want to know why I think so? This is because I worked outdoors far away from home for making money when I wed with my wife less than half yearI owe my family too much from my heart. My mother passed away when we had married twenty month. I participated  the projects in Kuwait when my daughter was nine months; She didn’t know “Who I am ” at all at that time; She had been two and half years old when I came back to China. When we met at the first time, she didn’t excitedly run into my arms like other kids treating their fathers because I was still a stranger to her. As well, my father also died during I was in Kuwait. I verily felt so disappointed and heat-struck….

Afterwards, I joined the projects in Libya, Kazakhstan and India one after the other. I have worked twenty-four years since 1988, and I have stayed in foreign countries for six years. The six years is my parents most need care by me as one of their favorite children; the six years is my baby most needs paternal love; and it is also my beloved wife most yearns for me to love her. However, I wasn’t around in those years. Even though I made too much money, the things I have lost also aren’t less. Even though I know that a lot of losing things are irretrievable, I still do my best to retrieve. Consequently, I always stay at home with my family in stead of going out to have social intercourse now. I will spend more time to accompany them; we are deep in love with each other; we share the nicest and happiest life; I will drive ORV to travel with my family together.
