Twenty-four

Twenty-four
I often played a kind of two people game named Twenty-four using a pack of playing cards when I was a child (about ten to twelve years old). Its rule is very simple, which is just that the cards 2 to 10 stand for themselves; A, K, Q, J, Queen and King all stand for 1; everyone takes half of cards and turns three cards in the same time; the person will win this round who figures up faster Twenty-four while applying add, subtract, multiply, and divided rules. The winner will put the six cards (including the opposite’s three cards) into other cards of his own, who owning most of the cards will win the final. If nobody can figure out 24 with those six cards, they will be put on one side, and then the gamers go on playing next round.
For example, 3, 5, 7, 10, 2and J six cards will have a few answers. The first is 3×(7+J)+10-5×2=24.The second is (3+J)×{7-10÷(5×2)=24.The third is 5×7-10-3÷(2+J)=24.The fourth is (10+2)×(3+5+J-7)=24,and so on. It is obvious that the random six cards may have a kinds of ways, but which is the fastest? It is difficult to say because everyone’s degree of the arithmetic proficiency is different. However, there are also some knacks. For instance, we should use multiplication as much as possible, and it is better to use 3×8 or 4×6 computing method in the end step. The game can help teenage children to neatly apply arithmetic and improve their intelligence. Sometimes I still play the game with my daughter until now, who will rise into the junior high school this year and shows great interest in it. She could win me every time. Of course, if I really want to win

The Interpreter

The Interpreter
I have already read The Interpreter twice. Every Chapter left a deep impression on me, so to speak, which had a lot of suspense. And these attracted me to continue to read the following Chapter, especially the Chapter 8 and the Chapter 13 which made me very nervous and excited. Therefore, I like the novel very much.
However, I also have a lot of questions without understanding, in other words, I felt puzzled. The first is that Why Silvia put the new notebooks inside a large envelope which was written an address (Chapter 3, page 11); what secret there was in the new notebooks. The second is that How Silvia knew it was the death list that was written on the photo back (Chapter 5, page 15); didn’t Tobin know? The third is that why Jamal took the risk of stealing the African mask; what important meaning it had in the novel; was it necessary to call Silvia after he walked off with it (Chapter 5, page 16)? The fourth is that how Silvia recognized King’s car; was it a real coincidence when Silvia met Kuman on the bus (the two points made me felt that she had ever undergone special training)? Did Kuman die in the bomb (Chapter 5m, page 25,27and 30)? The fifth is that how Silvia entered the heavily guarded safe room where Zuwanie stayed (Chapter 14, page 43).
All these were not clearly written by the author, which were probably left out. Maybe the author left a few of suspense on purpose. All in all, I think Silvia still is a mysterious or dangerous woman because she looked like very bridle-wise. I always feel an organization supporting her, and there are still lots of secrets in the U.N. building.
What would she do when she went back to Africa? What would happen to Silvia and Tobin finally? I recommend the author to go on writing and uncover those mysteries.

The Best Travel Way

The Best Travel Way

I like to travel, and my favorite way to travel is self-driving tour. My ideal is to drive an ORV (off-road vehicle) to go on a journey with my wife across the country when I retire.

Self-driving tour has a lot of advantages. At first, it’s very convenient. You may go to your fond anywhere; you may start, stop anytime without any constraint; and you may have plenty of time to taste local delicious food. The second, it is cheaper than other travel ways, such as by a plane, which is expensive. You first have to take a taxi to downtown after you deplane, then you check in a hotel which you don’t understand at all (The hotel is likely to give the taxi driver some benefit), and you will have to rent a car or ride a bus with a tourist group in order to get to the tourist spot by the next day.

Above all, these are no small cost. On the contrary, self-driving tour can help you save some money, and you may optionally choose a cheap and good service hotel. Moreover, self-driving tour will give you a kind of relaxed, cheerful, excited and even crazy feeling while you are driving and listening to the loud music.

However, self-driving trip also has a few disadvantages. For example, it is difficult to move your car when you are in traffic jams, especially when you meet an accident on the totally-enclosed motorway. I once met circumstance one time and stayed in my car all night. Can you imagine that I was alone in a cold and dark night and it was snowing so heavily outside the car?

You should

My friend from China is coming to visit Calgary in a week. If he arrives here, I really have a lot of words to talk with him. At first, I will tell him that no matter weather forecast is, he should bring an umbrella  everyday and had better wear a caftan in case of a cold, because the weather change fast here. It will maybe shower anytime and anywhere, and temperature also changes a lot between day and night.

The second, I will tell him that he had better carry a camera when he will be outdoor everyday, because the scenery is very beautiful and attractive here. He can take a plenty of pictures of all kinds of plants never seen in China, such as lots of flowering trees which aroma is very tempting; he also can take a great deal of pictures of wild animals anywhere, such as squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese and kinds of birds.

In addition, I have also sincere advice to tell him. He must take the ticket everyday if he takes a subway, or else he will suffer severe punishment if police find him without a ticket. I heard that subway police fined near $150 who didn’t accept any explains.

Crime and Safety

Crime and Safety

I have stayed in Calgary for one and half months. I feel Calgary’s people are very easy and comfortable. All people live in so natural environment, for there is clear air and all kinds of plants, lots of flowering trees, and the aroma is very tempting. You can see wild animals anywhere in the city, such as squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese and kinds of birds. They all freely live, nobody wants to disturb them.
I suppose the city is safer than my hometown, nevertheless I only occasionally can hear few of criminal things like that someone’s wallet is stolen in my hometown. I never hear any news about crime probably because I rarely read newspaper and watch TV in Calgary. But my consciousness tells me the city’s crime rate is lower, because what I see every day is that everyone is busy with their own thing; I never see somebody fighting, even rarely hear somebody shouting by day only if at night; when police meet you, they always smile to you rather than check your passport like other countries. However, I am confused why alarms always sound everyday. I wonder what’s happening.

Nobody wants to be the victim of a crime. However, how can we protect ourselves? In my own opinion, first, we should learn some self-protection general knowledge; second, we had better be far away from busy places for the busier, the more danger.

My Favorite

My Favorite

If you ask me, “What is your favorite?” I may answer you without hesitation, “My favorite is that I drive ORV to travel with my family together.” Perhaps you feel my answer is too simple or a little inveracious, however, this is the most sincere and unadorned word which I really comprehend in my more than forty experiences.
Do you want to know why I think so? This is because I worked outdoors far away from home for making money when I wed with my wife less than half yearI owe my family too much from my heart. My mother passed away when we had married twenty month. I participated  the projects in Kuwait when my daughter was nine months; She didn’t know “Who I am ” at all at that time; She had been two and half years old when I came back to China. When we met at the first time, she didn’t excitedly run into my arms like other kids treating their fathers because I was still a stranger to her. As well, my father also died during I was in Kuwait. I verily felt so disappointed and heat-struck….

Afterwards, I joined the projects in Libya, Kazakhstan and India one after the other. I have worked twenty-four years since 1988, and I have stayed in foreign countries for six years. The six years is my parents most need care by me as one of their favorite children; the six years is my baby most needs paternal love; and it is also my beloved wife most yearns for me to love her. However, I wasn’t around in those years. Even though I made too much money, the things I have lost also aren’t less. Even though I know that a lot of losing things are irretrievable, I still do my best to retrieve. Consequently, I always stay at home with my family in stead of going out to have social intercourse now. I will spend more time to accompany them; we are deep in love with each other; we share the nicest and happiest life; I will drive ORV to travel with my family together.

The 10 million rich man

I still dream to be a hundreds of millions rich man, so I usually try to buy the lottery, but Janelle always looks after others. In all five people won more than 10 million RMB in Chinese lottery history, and it all happened from 2007 to 2011. The highest money award is 36 million RMB.

Imagine I won 10 million RMB, How will I spend the money?  …What will I do? …If the day really comes, I indeed have lots of thoughts and plans. At first, I want to change my life condition .I will buy a big villa which have a lot of rooms, especially bedrooms, and have a garden, a swimming pool outside. I would like to invite my older brothers' and sisters’ whole families to move into, in stead of directly giving some money to them, because I want them to share a big family happy life with me. We can meet every day. I eat, play, and talk along with them. We may personally plant a plenty of vegetables and fruits in the garden together. When they are all mature, I, in company with my relatives, pick and taste those all natural, pollution-free plants and fruits. What a exciting and joyful thing this isIt is really family relationships
In addition, we may go on vacation and take a trip around the world. We will travel and enjoy the most famous places of interest and natural scenery all over the world. We will taste the most delicious food all parts of the world. Finally, I still want to found a company. I will realize my past dream through managing the company by myself. I will continually try hard to expand the scope of business deal with my employees. In the meanwhile I’m also constantly going to provide employment opportunities for even more others, and to contribute even more for society.
If you ask me, “Would you like to give some to the charity when you just won $10 million RMB?” I may certainly answer you at that time, “I wouldn’t like, because I would rather personally make some commonweal careers with money. I only believe myself in stead of some charities. I know how to use it better than others.
